Founder & President

Marie Rushing

Rebekah Marie Rushing, who goes by her middle name Marie, is the Founder and President of Foster Nest, Inc. She has an amazing story to share given that she was adopted as an infant and has a passion to help others navigate life’s challenges personally and professionally. Adoption did not define who she was. Currently, she is an Senior Client Solutions Manager at LinkedIn. She worked in major corporations such as Google, BET Networks, Capgemini and more. Foster Nest will also serve as a legacy for her late mother who battled lung cancer and was also adopted.

Marie aims to impact lives, community and broaden her knowledge cross-functionally, while helping others along the way to discover their full potential. i.e. their "Who I Am". She earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Advertising with a minor in Communications from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. She is a marketing ad tech aficionado with a positive spirit to inspire others, advocate for diversity and share knowledge to drive strategic growth.

Foster Nest was created because, she has seen gaps in the foster care system and corporate atmosphere. She believes she can help close the gap. She hopes her motivational story, passion and legacy for her late mother will help others to redefine the "Who I Am" in a world that sometimes makes you feel alone. Her passion for diversity initiatives fuels her soul to make an impact in the world for positive change. She plans to make a life changing impact with Foster Nest.

Board Member

Angelia Blair

Angelia M. Blair is an established educator who has taught for over 30 years. She has touched hundreds of students by being authentic, showing tough love, challenging students to be their best selves and caring to create an atmosphere to help children know their potential. She believes if you reach one student to lead them to success you have done your job.

She is proud to know that she has been able to reach more than one student throughout her career. She prides herself on being able to inspire students to learn the truth about the world, understand their self worth, and know that being in special education classes didn’t stop her students from being successful. She started her teaching career at St Joseph school in Cabrini Greens for two years then she went on to teach at South Central Community Services in Roseland Chicago for two years.

Currently, she is a teacher at the school district 149 middle school in Calumet City, in which she has taught for over 28 years. Ms. Blair was best friends with Patricia Andrews and they taught special education in the same class for nearly 20 years. Ms. Blair is most excited about being able to contribute to an organization that will help provide a positive impact amongst foster, kinship and adoptive youth and individuals who have went through similar situations as our loving angel Patricia Andrews. She is happy to support the Founder Marie Rushing to make a positive impact in the education and interactive mentorship programs.
