Our mission
Provide access for diverse foster youth to unique educational and interactive programs which will build bridges between current and former individuals who went through the foster, kinship or adoptive care systems.
Who we are:
Foster Nest is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing educational and interactive programs to diverse youth and young professionals who have been previously or are currently involved in foster, kinship or adoptive care systems. We’ve segmented and specially tailored programs for individuals from ages 10-30 years old.
L.I.F.E. Program; ages 10-17
Redefine Program; ages 18-30
Our Vision
We envision a world where the foster, kinship and adoptive care community have access to authentic relationships and professional and personal development resources to unlock their full potential to help define their “Who I Am” on their path to identity
What we believe:
If we are able to bridge the gaps, we can help foster youth and individuals to be on a better path to redefine their “Who I Am” to avoid systematic predetermined paths. We want companies, institutions and professionals to be a resource to those who aged out or went through the foster, kinship or adoptive care systems. We believe in working with educators and social workers to ignite positive change in the foster care community. We want people who went through foster care, kinship care or adoptive care who successfully made a name for themselves as professionals, entrepreneurs, artists, actors, athletes, etc. to give back to those who are currently going through the system via mentorship, program participation and donations. We understand that going through foster care is not always easy but we want to provide a safe place for individuals to feel supported. We want foster youth to know the lack of emotional, mental and loving support is beyond being raised by your birth family, you have the power to redefine your “Who I Am.”
